All students are encouraged to participate in our school breakfast and lunch program.  The students may bring lunch from home.  Only school lunches and sack lunches from home will be eaten in the cafeteria.  In order to comply with the National School Lunch Program and to insure that each child receives a nutritious meal, deliveries from restaurants will not be allowed in our school during lunch hours.  (Canned drinks or drinks in commercial containers cannot be brought into the lunchroom.)  We are thrilled to let you know that we now offer MealpayPlus (, a state-of-the-art online service that offers you the convenience and information you need to manage your student's meal account.  Send an email request to or call 423-942-3434 Ext 2010 or 2011, for students seven digit student I.D. number.

Students are not permitted to leave campus for lunch.  Students will return trays and utensils to the proper rack and dispose of trash in appropriate containers.  Students who litter the cafeteria will be assigned clean up duty in those areas at the discretion of the administration.  Whitwell Elementary School's cafeteria will serve both breakfast and lunch.  All students will be provided applications for free and reduced meals.  These must be completed and returned to school before the student may receive this discount.  Adults are welcome to eat at school on a space available basis.  Reservations must be made before 8 a.m. by calling the school cafeteria.  Any questions about eligibility for free and reduced meals should be directed to Brandy Sanders, the cafeteria manager.
